If you've been reading our recent posts and wondered, "Where are the girls?", fear not, this is for you. As much trouble as the boys' hair can be, the girls tend to have it much worse.
You know what doesn't hold up after 40 years? Rubber bands. Old elastic disintegrates and fuses to the yarn hair. It is extremely sticky and doesn't wash out. Each tiny little rubber shard needs to be plucked off by hand. Holy hassle, Batman!
Some girls' hair has been treated so badly through the years that it can be hard to know where to start. This poor Kid looks as though a small animal gnawed away at her hair. "I could use a VO5 hot oil treatment....and maybe some D-con."
Even in less extreme cases, a girl's long hair can get into a huge tangle. "I feel like I have chocolate spaghetti on my head."
This poor girl arrived with very sticky seeds embedded in her hair. We think she was living in a barn.
Even the short-haired girls can have problems, like this one with a matted mess.
Finally, some girls are in dire need of a deep clean shampoo. We think this sweetheart was living in a moldy mud puddle. We don't want to know what those brown streaks are.
Here's how she looks cleaned up. Yes, that is her natural hair color. "I ain't no bottle blonde!"
